Care Instructions for Genuine Suede Bags
Genuine suede is a delicate material with a soft, velvety texture that requires gentle care. Following these recommendations will help preserve the attractive appearance of your bag for longer.
Protection Before Use
Before first use, we recommend treating the bag with a water-repellent protective spray specifically designed for genuine suede.
The protective treatment can then be reapplied approximately every 2–4 weeks, after cleaning, or according to the product manufacturer’s instructions.
Before using any care product, we recommend testing it on a small, inconspicuous area of the bag.
Daily Care
Avoid prolonged contact with water, damp or dirty surfaces, and cosmetic products.
Store the bag in its dust bag. To help maintain its shape, you can fill it with clean, soft paper.
Light-colored suede may absorb dyes from dark clothing, especially denim.
Dark or richly colored suede may transfer a small amount of pigment onto light-colored clothing during the first few uses. This can be a natural characteristic of dyed genuine suede.
Cleaning
We recommend removing minor dry dirt as soon as possible using a special suede brush or suede eraser.
If you use a cleaning foam or another specialized suede-cleaning product, follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
For a more even result, we do not recommend treating only a small stained area. Whenever possible, clean the entire corresponding section of the bag, as spot cleaning may cause slight differences in color or texture.
For difficult or persistent stains, we recommend using a professional dry-cleaning service experienced in working with genuine suede products.
Not Recommended
— Washing or fully soaking the bag in water
— Using alcohol, acetone, bleach, harsh detergents, or other products not specifically intended for genuine suede
— Rubbing wet suede vigorously
— Drying the bag with a hairdryer, on a radiator, near other sources of intense heat, or in direct sunlight
Natural Characteristics of Genuine Suede
Genuine suede is a natural material, so individual items may have slight variations in texture, nap direction, or shade.
Natural changes in the nap and light signs of wear may also appear with use. These characteristics do not necessarily indicate a defect in the material or the product.
